about

This album contains music that I composed for videogames, during the past few months. Most of the games are made by me, usually for some game jam on itch.io; turns out making music AND games is faster (and somewhat more satisfying) than looking for music jobs for games on the internet.

This album has the soundtrack of 4 games, here they are:

"Ghost School" is a funny/horror visual novel I've made for Bitsy Jam #66, the theme was ghosts on holiday. The overall atmosphere and music is inspired by silly horror movies from the 70s or 80s set during holiday times (especially Christmas) like Silent Night Deadly Night (and the sequels) or Black Christmas. You can play the game here wandeer.itch.io/ghost-school

For Bitsy Jam #67 I've made "Times". The theme was jazz so I went for some jazzy lo-fi sound mixed with sci-fi electronics. The game is once again a visual novel talking about art philosphy, set in a dystopian future where it always rain and people can time travel by touching vinyl records. The game is over here wandeer.itch.io/times

"Footprints in the snow" is the the biggest project on this album, it was made together with friends Gardiz and Daizo for Winter Visual Novel Jam 2022. It's basically a magic boy/girl type of anime and the music reflects that: you have various tracks for different moments, an opening song for the "anime episode" and an intermission to play before and after the "commercial break". You can find the game here: wandeer.itch.io/footprints-on-the-snow

Lastly we have "who ate all the fish", made soon after "Footprints in the snow" so it's a fairly short and simple game (a small retro town to explore) and also the first time I make the music in the Bitsy Editor itself. The music you can make in Bitsy is very similar to the gameboy sound with its limitation. I think I will experiment a bit more with it in the future. Before releasing this album I've orchestrated the music and made a small orchestral suite of the themes. You can play the game here: wandeer.itch.io/who-ate-all-the-fish
